The PK Difference
“A healthy lifestyle is more than a number on the scale. I’ve been with PK Fitness and certified trainer Peggy Keebler for many years—through my bigger sizes, my smaller sizes, and now at the size that feels healthy and right for me.”
What sets Peggy apart is that she understands fitness is about more than changing your body. She cares about the whole person—mentally, emotionally, and physically. She takes the time to understand the mindset behind the journey before diving into the physical goals, and that approach has made all the difference for me. Because of Peggy’s consistency, encouragement, knowledge, and accountability, I’ve been able to develop and maintain a healthier lifestyle—from making better food choices and exercising regularly to keeping a healthy mindset about what wellness truly means. Peggy isn’t just a trainer or health coach; she becomes your health friend, someone who wants to see you succeed and knows how to help you get there safely and effectively.
Can you work out on your own? Absolutely. But having the right accountability, expertise, and guidance can be the difference between simply exercising and building a lifestyle you can maintain. I wholeheartedly recommend PK Fitness to anyone ready to invest in themselves and their health. Choose PK today. It’s the only way. 💪🏽

“I’ve been active my whole life. In my 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and into my 50’s I could out walk the best walkers.”
It was my exercise of choice. I always hated weight work and was never consistent with it. A friend finally convinced me to give Coach Peggy a try. That was almost three years ago. She has worked with me twice weekly in one-hour sessions. She coached me to very good condition before years of neglecting a back issue got the best of me. She coached me through the long period as I awaited surgery making sure not to aggravate the injury. I returned to her 4 months after having three vertebrae fused in my back. For the past 16 months she has worked with me to regain what I lost, strengthen my core, arms, legs and back. Coach Peggy consistently pushes me to go farther in my workouts with her, but she also keeps a close watch to make sure I don’t injure myself. I feel stronger as each month passes. I’m 62 years old and am in the best shape I’ve been in my entire adult life! I am confident in my body like never before. I would never have been more prepared to have major back surgery or recovered as successfully as I have without Coach Peggy! She understands the body, all its muscle groups, how to train a person who has never been active to athletes performing on a collegiate and professional level! Believe it when you hear clients call her the body artist!
She’s my trainer for life!!!

“So many times we see the end result or finished products in life. What we don’t always see is the process.”
The behind the scenes dedication, sacrifices and WORK it took to be here.
2019 was a really tough year for me. I had so much on my plate at one time that I seriously considered being on some form of anxiety medication. I was stressed to the MAX. I was a full time student taking 6-8 classes a semester and a supervisor at LSCC Student Services Department. During my breaks I would rush to do schoolwork. I was studying to pass all 8 of my PRAXIS exams, projects, lesson plans, teaching, observation hours, homework, mentoring, seminars, speaking engagements, and withholding a very toxic relationship that publicly embarrassed me all at once.
By the time I made it to the end of September I felt like my world was starting to cave in. I wasn’t excited at all to celebrate my 23rd birthday on October 8th. Things had gotten so bad that I pushed my family away so that they wouldn’t worry about me (which caused them to worry more). Concurrently with the aforementioned tasks and activities, I was also gaining weight at a rapid speed.
I had a total of 7 classes and was failing 5 of them. My full scholarship was at risk of being snatched away from me. I was so overwhelmed with my life at the time that I just wanted to SCREAM! One day, I looked in the mirror and just broke completely down. In the midst of my breakdown, I felt the room get cold out of nowhere and I heard God say “Cut out any and everything in your life that is not bringing you peace! It’s time!”. 😼✂️
I did just that! I got rid of EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY in my life that wasn’t helping me be and feel my best. I didn’t care how much it hurt me to let go. If it was toxic, shaky, or in a grey area within my life, it had to GO (bad habits included)! It’s crazy how God will use pain to draw you back to him. 😩❤️ Instead of spending my time mourning my losses I got BUSY. When I wasn’t working overtime to pull all of my grades up (I ended up with all A’s and one B which was my best semester I had while at UAB), I was studying to pass those PRAXIS exams (passed and paid for every last one of them and now I am certified to teach 😉).
When I wasn’t working, I would spend time rejuvenating my mind, body, and spirit with GOD. Whether I was listening to sermons, meditating, reading books, talking to someone older than me, or reading the Bible, I knew my spirit needed some type of fulfillment. This eventually led me to start going back to church after 10 years of not attending. A couple months down the line I decided to become a member and give my life back over to Christ.
After spending months repairing myself on the inside, I decided that I was ready to look the part. On November 14, 2019 I reached out to Peggy Keebler the owner of PK Fitness, LLC after a quest of tring to find the perfect trainer. I knew her program was what I needed, but I wasn’t completely sure until I took a trip to the doctor’s office. During the appointment, I was basically informed that my cortisol (stress) levels were a bit abnormal and that I was pre-diabetic. If I didn’t change my life soon I was going to be placed on medication or insulin. Coming from two parents that were already diabetic, I was officially scared straight! My biggest take away from the doctor was to lose weight. I went back with all of my test results to show Ms. Peggy. I then looked her in her eyes and said “I’m ready. Let’s get busy!”. She was just as determined and was ready to put her “body sculpting” skills in full affect.
From there I took off. In one week I lost 5 pounds and from there I felt like a popsicle out of the freezer because those pounds started MELTINGGGGG AWAY!! After one month of diet, exercise, and consuming sea moss regularly, I was 20 pounds down. The more I lost the more Ms. Peggy would push me. After 3 months not only was I over 50 pounds down but I had inherited another mother figure in my life.
Ms. Peggy is much more than a trainer and coach. She meets her clients right where they are and pushes them towards greatness. She knows when something is on my mind as soon as she makes eye contact with me. You would think we have known each other all of our lives. She always tells me “You know Chas, if I had a daughter I would want her to be just like you!”. I always find it cute until she says “IKR! Give me some Burpees though!”. 😅🙄 I do them but, not without complaining the entire time.
When I first started working out at PK Fitness, I had a BMI of 42.7. I now have a BMI of 35.4! My goal is to get down to a BMI of 28-30. This journey has been just as hard mentally as it has been physically but, with God any and everything is possible. A year ago I was sad, depressed, overwhelmed, and miserable with my life. I had reached an all time low. I silently cry for that girl.
Today, my spirit, self esteem, drive, and ambition has been renewed. I know exactly what I want out of life and I won’t settle until I get ALL OF IT! I represent the strength of the countless BLACK women before myself who would never settle for less. I serve a very Sovereign God! I thank God for sending my inherited mother figure, Ms. Peggy Keebler, into my life. I pray that my story can inspire others to do the same. I am HERE to continue a journey of internal light that shines through my body! I am HERE to challenge others like myself to find the light that shines within themselves! A transformation on the outside is best supported by a transformation on the inside! If nothing else, do the WORK FOR YOU! YOU ARE WORTH IT
